“I Thought I Knew Myself” with Dr. Marianne Goldsmith
Dr. Marianne Goldsmith is a distinguished psychiatrist and psychoanalyst whose career has been devoted to supporting the emotional and mental well-being of individuals and families. She began her lifelong commitment to young people as a pediatrician in the National Health Service. A longtime member of both the Unitarian Universalist and Martha’s Vineyard communities, she was also deeply connected to the academic and public-service work of her late husband, Professor Bill Goldsmith, with whom she shared more than fifty years of marriage. Together they raised three children and created a home rooted in compassion, learning, and service.
Her book, Fighting for Love: Journal of a Training Analysis, will be available at both Bunch of Grapes and the Edgartown Bookstore, and it can also be requested through the Vineyard Haven Library via the CLAMS catalog: https://vineyard-haven.clamsnet.org/Record/621233
