Sunday Service Cancelled, see service information for options
Dear Friends,
We are writing to you to announce the cancellation of our Sunday February 8 worship service due to unsafe walking situations created by adverse weather conditions.
We were unable to secure anyone to remove the 18” of snow that is in the street, back to our curb (for a price we could afford), so that we could safely exit our cars and walk to the Chapel. Safety of our members and friends is our first priority!
Our CUUPS MV (Covenant Of Unitarian Universalist Pagans MV) members had assembled a wonderful service for Sunday; unfortunately it is not transferable to a Zoom format. We will look forward to rescheduling this service at the same time of year in 2027.
We suggest you might be interested in participating in the Zoom service of First Parish Cambridge:
Rev. Rob Hardies, senior minister at First Parish Cambridge, will be preaching this Sunday.
The service is from 10:30-11:30 am. The service is “What Masks Can’t Hide” with Rev. Rob Hardies
“Since the pandemic, facial coverings have become a regular—and now sinister—feature of American life. Once a staple of PPE, masks are now a significant element of urban streetwear, protest culture, and, chillingly, federal “law enforcement.” My concern about masks is as much about what they hide as what they reveal. What they reveal about who we’ve become, and how we’ve allowed ourselves to be governed. What’s the meaning of a mask?”
View the order of service here. Join here on Zoom. For more information follow this link to the First Parish in Cambridge.
Our Annual Meeting is rescheduled to Sunday February 22, following the worship service. Absentee ballots must be received by Thursday, February 19. All previous absentee ballots are valid for this meeting. Annual meeting materials are available for viewing on our member’s page of our website: UUSMV Member’s Page. The annual meeting will be in person and on Zoom.
