In The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage, Franciscan friar Richard Rohr has written: “Somehow, the loving people I have met all across the world seem to know that if it is love at all, it has to be love for everybody.  As soon as you even begin to parcel it out, you are not in the great field of love.”   In keeping with October’s theme of “Cultivating Compassion” the sermon this week will explore our understanding of the both the spaciousness of compassion and what we perceive to be the limits of compassion.
