Lessons I Learned From My Mother . . . About Resisting Oppression

Rev. Roberta’s mother, Jeanne Oslyn, fell in love with Martha’s Vineyard and passed that love on to her children and grandchildren. Jeanne was also a fierce social justice warrior. In this sermon Rev. Roberta will share stories from her childhood that illustrate some of what she learned about the art of resistance from her mother.

Rev. Roberta Finkelstein retired from UU parish ministry in 2022. She now divides her time between playing with her grandchildren and continuing her mother’s legacy of resisting injustice and advocating for marginalized people in all walks of life. She and her husband Barry love spending time on the Vineyard, and have been friends of UUSMV for decades.
