Parenting as a Spiritual Journey

Parenting can be a daily mad dash from start to finish, cajoling kids out of bed, trying to get healthy food into their growing bodies, rushing them to the bus stop or dropping them off at school when they’ve missed the bus, transporting them from one activity to the next, supervising homework, drawing conversation out of them, then attempting to maintain patience and sanity until the nightly bedtime routine draws to a close.  We strive to “get it right” and fail more often than we’d like to admit. What happens when we view and experience parenthood as a spiritual journey, a moving meditation, a practice that requires self-love, patience, forgiveness, and introspection?
