Uncovering Viking-age Combat: Strange Science?

In this presentation, Dr. Short discusses Hurstwic’s research into Viking-age combat and shares some of the surprising results, based on archaeological, literary, and pictorial evidence, and new scientific testing.  Hurstwic, a research organization based in New England, is curious about all things Viking, with a focus on the fighting moves of the Viking-age people. Hurstwic uses the scientific method, combined with layer upon layer of sources and experimentation, to gain new insight into how Viking-age people fought and used their weapons. This service is appropriate for all ages.  Celeste Stickney is the service coordinator.
